Growing responsible tourism and lasting business linkages

Dar es Salam. The SECO/UN Trade Sector Development Programme in Tanzania promotes sustainable tourism and lasting linkages between suppliers and hotels.

Tourism stakeholders need to have a greater awareness of the impacts of tourism, the opportunities and benefits that adopting a responsible tourism approach to planning, management and operation can bring. And most importantly, they can build on practical and realistic tools, such as the Responsible Tourism Tanzania (RTTZ) Certification Scheme, in order to act more responsibly.

To help meet this challenge, RTTZ with UNCTAD support has implemented a multi-stakeholder awareness raising and capacity-building workshop that provided key sector stakeholders with the knowledge and skills for responsible tourism and to identify the priority steps to develop tourism in a more sustainable way.
