Feasibility Study for Tourism Vocational Training in Hurghada

Ministries and tourism enterprises are willing to invest in training and further education offers in tourism for prospective employees that are tailored to their needs.

Tourism vocational training is a high priority for the Egyptian government, as the lack of qualified personnel is a decisive obstacle to the development of the Egyptian economy.

With the aim of developing business solutions to improve the quality of skilled workers for the Egyptian tourism sector, the TUI/TUI Care Foundation, together with the JAZ Hotel Group, GIZ and other stakeholders, developed the "Hospitality Passport Concept" as part of the "Lab of Tomorrow-Challenge", which aims to help the private sector and the government to improve vocational training in the tourism sector.

The concept has now been examined for feasibility and appropriate recommendations have been made for the successful and sustainable implementation of the concept in Hurghada, taking into account the Dual System Schools, the requirements of the JAZ Hotel Group and the TUI/TUI Care Foundation.

To this end, on-site visits to the schools and a series of interviews and roundtable discussions were conducted with representatives of associations and the government as well as private stakeholders and school staff in Hurghada.
