Strategy workshop in Bad Kissingen

The draft for a Vision 2030 and the development of a sustainable strategic orientation for Germany's most famous spa resort Bad Kissingen was the subject of a Strategy Workshop on 31 October 2013, which was moderated by Prof. Dr. Martin Fontanari.

Together with leading representatives of the city, the state spa, the administration and tourism stakeholders, new market opportunities in health tourism were reflected upon, existing potentials identified, and a sustainable positioning developed.

The initial focus was on a detailed examination of the major trends, their effects on the current situation and the challenges that arise from this for a traditional health resort such as Bad Kissingen. The central question was: how can Bad Kissingen use its strengths and potentials to meet future wishes and needs?

With the help of a structured workshop method the factors decisive for success on the way to becoming an outstanding health resort or innovative tourism destination were elaborated. Inspired by this rather creative examination of the future and the challenges for Bad Kissingen, the next steps were to define concrete goals and strategies as well as to set project priorities that are supported and carried by the participants.

The results were impressive. In a 50-page documentation, the planners and creators in Bad Kissingen were offered a lot of inspiration and consensus-driven content to formulate a binding health tourism future concept for Bad Kissingen.

The programme, procedure and results of the workshop were evaluated with the highest level of satisfaction.
