Tourism Strategy and Marketing Plan for Quang Nam: Destination development remotely in times of Covid-19

After a brief break in the face of Covid-19, our activities in international development cooperation have resumed - remotely from Germany.

What previously seemed almost impossible is now working very well thanks to close coordination via video conferences, digital planning tools and a strong team on site.

On behalf of GFA Consulting, we have evaluated the regional tourism and marketing strategy for the provincial government of Quang Nam within the framework of the Swiss programme for sustainable tourism in Vietnam. Not only the general conditions of the cooperation were exceptional, but of course also the completely new and challenging situation in tourism in times of the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition to the step-by-step implementation of a classic tourism planning process, it was necessary to analyse the current crisis, develop different scenarios and show possible solutions.

The result was a comprehensive tourism and marketing concept with the strategic cornerstones for a long-term sustainable tourism development in a rapidly growing destination as well as a practice-oriented roadmap for the targeted recovery and marketing of tourism during and after the Covid-19 crisis.
