Analysis of the Tourism Value Chain in Egypt

The Dutch Centre for the Promotion of Imports from Developing Countries (CBI) is conducting an analysis of the tourism value chain to identify the main obstacles and opportunities for sustainable tourism from Europe to Egypt and possible solutions that CBI or CBI partners can offer to address these obstacles and opportunities.

Based on the results of this analysis, CBI aims to assist small and medium sized enterprises and institutions from Egypt in developing and promoting sustainable tourism in Egypt for the European market in the above mentioned value chain.

CBI has commissioned the consulting company Compass GmbH to carry out this value chain analysis. Kai Partale acted as lead consultant for the value chain process by means of on-site analyses, interviews and meetings with public and private stakeholders and contributed significantly to the preparation of the study with the help of his local knowledge.
